2008: Race 2 took us to Gingerman Raceway in Southhaven, MI. Tim Pratt was able to join us with his 80 Jr. Kart and sunny skies with 60' temp greeted the racers for Friday practice. Saturday's races saw Randy start the Spec Moto 125 race from pole. Holding off another competitor for the first 15 minutes, Randy went wide in turn one on the approach and the oppontent got by. Second place was the result. Tim Pierson ran hard and dominated the 80 senior race adn never put a foot wrong all day. His margin over second was over 1/2 mile! Tim Pratt faced some stiff competition in the 80 Jr. Class. After some very consistent and smooth driving, he put his kart in 5th place in his first 80 shifter race against the toughest competition he has ever faced. Gary Palmer ran in the top 5 in the G125 race, but suffered from a blown cylinder head O-ring at the midway mark. After pitting for a replacement, he finished down the grid, but proved the speed is there. Sunday was a total wash out with rain again. Gratten, MI is the next stop in June before the super nationals in July. |
