30 minute heat. Tim had a nice run finishing second. In mid August, the tour visited the new Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA. Tim had a double 2nd place finish, not quite able to match his season nemesis. Milwaukee was the last event of the CES tour in mid September. Friday practice went "bad" as Tim's engine broke down. After all night hours and no success, Tim tried running his step-brother's 80cc shifter kart. This is much different as the kart has a clutch for the initial take off and 6 speeds. After entering the Novice Shifter Class, Tim did well in his first race placing 7th overall. The next day, Tim proved that he was able to adapt to the new kart by placing 1st in his class. The 2008 season will involve Tim competing in the 80 Jr. Shifter Class. This class is for 80cc shifter engines with restrictions on body work and a minimum weight of 330 lb. total. He is looking forward to driving in the new class. Tim strives to continue to improve his driving skills with each race, looking forward to 2009 where he will move into the 80 Sr. Class. |
